After a traumatic event (i.e., combat, an assault, disaster, etc.) it’s normal to be fearful, anxious or despondent.
However, it has been months since the traumatic event and you are not feeling better, you may have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. When you have PTSD, the world feels unsafe. You may have upsetting memories, feel on edge, or have trouble sleeping. You may also try to avoid things that remind you of your trauma — even things you used to enjoy.
