Veterans Lived Experiences Series (VLES 2020-11).
Recent military conflicts have been associated with high levels of both posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Dr. Keith Renshaw, a licensed psychologist and Professor of Psychology at George Mason University, Dr. Evelyn Lewis, President of the Veterans Health and Wellness Foundation reviewed common symptoms of both PTSD and TBI, with a particular emphasis on military specific experiences. They discussed how these two conditions have overlapping symptoms and can be experienced simultaneously, which sometimes makes it difficult to distinguish between them.
This event took place on November 10th, 2020. This Veterans’ Lived Experiences webinar featuring Matthew Hoh, Captain, US Marine Corps on his own personal experiences with PTSD adn TBI concludes with some of the questions from attendees answered by the panelist.
